Undertaking environmental due diligence is a condition of TTF membership and over the last 7 years the TTF has developed an off-the shelf tool, the Responsible Purchasing Policy to help members meet this requirement. The RPP or Responsible Purchasing Policy is free to members to use and;
The RPP is complementary to certification schemes like the FSC and PEFC. Standard forms and questionnaires enable buyers and suppliers to provide the information required. The TTF provides technical expertise and guidance to support members.
In the first year that Due Diligence was a condition of membership (2010), 92% of the membership implemented due diligence, the majority choosing to adopt RPP. Those members who could not meet their due diligence requirements are suspended from TTF membership until such time they can meet the requirements.
