On-Line Learning

This February the UK timber industry launched a new online information and education resource called Wood Campus

Developed in co-operation with TRADA, Wood for Good, the Timber Decking and Cladding Association and the Wood Window Alliance, Wood Campus is a joint initiative of Swedish Wood, Jewson and Buildbase. It brings together a number of new ways of delivering quick and precise information on wood, specially designed for builders and merchant staff, with an updated version of Wood for Good’s RIBA-accredited CPD Online Learning modules.

Wood Campus is a free resource for everyone who designs or works with wood. It includes social networking, a Search facility to provide instant access to information about specific issues, and five levels of information:
1. New ‘Fast track’ CPD short courses
2. ‘90-second Know-How’ videos giving essential trade tips for builders
3. Updated TRADA Choose ‘n’ Use builders’ factsheets that can be viewed online or downloaded
4. A video library bringing the best of the industry’s case studies and information films all together in one place
5. Revised and updated full length Wood for Good RIBA-accredited CPD courses

Wood for Good’s Online Learning, also known as the Timber Academy, has built up a big following over the five years since its launch, with thousands of professionals signed up for its RIBA-accredited CPD courses, as well as a number of major companies, such as the major trade distributors. Current users will be notified of the change of address and of the need to re-register at Wood Campus, but they will be able to keep their existing username and CPD history, so they can start again where they left off. New users can register free at Wood Campus
