One of the greenest ways to move products around is on wooden pallets. Wood's environmental credentials trump any other kind of packaging material and of course the wood can be recycled or burnt at the end of a pallet's life.
The pallet industry produces more than 1.5 billion wooden pallets a year worldwide, using approximately 60 million cubic metres of mainly European softwood.
More than 80% of goods transported worldwide are transported on some form of timber packaging. Please click here for more information on pallets and packaging.
