TTF meets US Government and Private Sector

The TTF met with forestry officials and trade representatives from the US to strengthen understanding and collaboration between the US and the UK on illegal logging issues.

Mr. David Brooks from The White House, Ms Jan MacAlpine from the US Department of State and Ms Anne Divjak from American Forest and Paper Association attended the meeting in London on the 17th of December. Discussions included the TTF Code of Conduct and Environmental Purchasing Policy, US views on proposals for EU regulation of imports of legal timber and updates on ongoing trade disputes.

The TTF agreed to cooperate and liaise more with the US representatives especially over trade issues raised within the European Union.
